In Memory of Capricons Gone By

In the long ago, when zeppelins still plied the earth, Geri Sullivan was Fan Guest of Honor at Capricon, and Geri, Mizz Laura Jean and I hosted a Minicon party at Capricon. We had everything Minnesotan: Land O' Lakes butter, Hormel Spam, kottbullar med dill, food on sticks, peeps, pickles and picklehats. During the party at some point, we flambéed the Spam. Then we dumped water on it to put out the flames -- it was on a glass table after all. By the time we closed down the party at 4:30 am, the Spam was gone...

It all blends into one big party after awhile, doesn't it? I think you cover something like years and two or more states in there.

Curiously enough, I had those bud vases out and ready to use at last weekend's Reno party at Boskone until I considered just how tightly packed my car was and left them at home.

I took orange Peeps (orange!) to the Boskone SBOF (Secret Banquet of Fandom), just because I could.

marsgov called tonight from Capricon so he, Joel, TR, and others could do a speakerphone howdy. I hesitate to consider just how much trouble those three could cook up....

Both of our kids and their friends are at Capricon this weekend. Having a wonderful time,I assume.
