This morning
Jan. 15th, 2009 05:10 pmThere was car parts and a car and truck parked conspicuously at 27th and Garfield. The car was bumperless in front. (I couldn't see the truck's damage. ) That plastic doesn't work well at -20 fondly Fahrenheit. It gets a wee bit brittle.
It's not a good corner. Half the drivers on 27th street stop even though there's no stop sign, and half the drivers on Garfield don't stop even though there is a stop sign. Garfield is a one-way going south except for the locals -- or so it seems. I complained to my city councilman years ago but gave it up along with the 27th & Lyndale corner coffeeshop parkers who believe parking 30 feet behind a stop sign means you park beside it instead of on it.
