The Washer arrived yesterday, late, around 4:30. Thong is already complaining that it does not use enough water to clean the clothes. It certainly has enough lights and buttons on it for the digeratti. I'm expecting my water bill to go down by at least $ 0.25 a month. After 250 years, I'm sure it will have paid for itself in water savings alone. I did run my pillows through it to see if it really could kill dust mites. I suppose the only way to wash the mattress would be to cut it up into small bits, and it probably wouldn't be very comfortable afterwards. I'm always amazed at the sites that suggest you freeze the mattress every month when it's cold enough outside. Like I'm going to carry it down the stairs and out to the porch or the garage to sit until dead. I tried opening the windows one winter, but I guess letting cold air blow across it just doesn't have the same affect. Besides, Thong is usually laying on it watching TV complaining about how uncomfortable it is. Maybe cutting it up isn't such a bad idea...
Must replace Ice Maker. It's gone berserk a few times. I've got a replacement downstairs, I just have to put it in. I should replace the valves again as well. It doesn't shut off any more, or make much ice. And once in a while, it keeps filling the tray, and filling the tray, and filling the tray.
Article on gay camping in the California. Review of Hairspray (the Boradway Musical) in today's NY Times. John Waters had a big article yesterday. A short list of his favorite NY things. House in Baltimore, apartments in Greenwich Village & P-Town. Not bad for somebody who started out filming his friend eating dog shit. Not to mention doing anti-smoking commercials for Landmark Theatres. My, how the fallen have risen.
