Uploaded the pictures of the lake. Taking a bunch of tools out to my aunt's to work on the fence (maybe), shortening a stool, and a couple of other things.
Called Sears and cancelled the repair call on the washer. I tipped it over yesterday and determined that it has no belt. It's about at the end of its life, so I'm not sure it's worth repairing. This means I have to replace it soon or else hit a laundromat or go shopping for clothes.
Thong's back Saturday. I'll be running a room party at Diversicon.

If you decide to get a new washer, I'd recommend you get a front loader (assuming that you can train the users of the washer to religiously empty the pockets of clothing placed in the washer).

Do you have a front-loader that you'd recommend? Consumer Reports seems not love with them as far as their cost/performance ratio.
I've looked at the Maytag, the Kenmore and the Whirlpool. Everybody in the house uses it, so it gets a lot of use. Thong also has a habit of trying to run 20 pound loads.

I'm really impressed with your technical wordage there - cost/performance on washing machines. I highly approve Consumer Reports as well - I was going to loan you mine, but you obviously don't need it.

You might scrounge around the selling sites on the net as well for costs - (put shopping comparison into google and see what they say.)

Good luck!

I don't get Consumer Reports and most of their website costs. I just trolled the free sections where they seemed not in love. I'm going to run out of clothes and have a very crabby Thong if the washer isn't working soon though. What does CR like?

Yep, I've got a slew of consumer reports - I'll take a look tonight and get back to you. You could stop over and collect the ones that are appropriate.
