Discovered I'd broken a tooth or lost like a really big filling some time on Friday afternoon/night at CONvergence. I kept up a firm belief that it could not possibly have happened, and even if it did, it didn't hurt. I also told my tongue to leave it alone, which worked some of the time. I called the dentist on Saturday morning and left a message on the answering machine. They called me around 7:30 this morning and asked if I could be there by 8:30 this morning. And, it didn't hurt over the weekend at least until the dentist poked it. Now, I've got another appointment for 6:00 tonight to get it ready for a crown. I just checked and insurance picks up 50%. Much better than nothing, but 80% seems like a much friendlier percentage...

I've had a temporary "crown" built up out of amalgam where a tooth with a big filling in it developed a critical-length crack one day. It's been in place for a couple of years, but the underlying root is starting to twinge lately. Now that I have dental insurance again, I guess I'll get the permanent crown put in.

50% looks WAAAY more attractive than 0%.

Besides we wouldn't wan tthe insurance giants to have to give up luxury's in their lives so that the rest of us can afford necessary care. I've never had dental that covered more then 50% of crowns and other such expensive procedures.

I'm hoping that by now you're well on your way to a fully repaired tooth (if not a fully paid for repaired tooth).
