Reprise

I went to see Reprise at the Lagoon last night. Ittsa long European movie that's finally picked up US distribution about two cute Norwegian guys who become authors, one an immediate sensation who then goes crazy, the other who has to work at it and remains slightly saner, although neither seem much like nice people. Cute yes, nice not so much. The film is artily edited, and artily scripted, which I'm not sure helped. Much of the tension in the film comes from trying to determine if the nuttier one is going to off himself. Obviously, that only works on the first viewing, and I was slightly ambivalent about whether I'd care if he jumped from a hill, a window, or a roof; found true love or lost it. Ittsa movie about young men, by young men. The trailer's better after the movie when you know how the bits fit together. Still, I guess there's nothing wrong at looking at a couple of young Norwegian men for an hour or two. http://www.reprise-themovie.com/
