Jun. 14th, 2002 07:27 amWent to see The Lady and the Duke last night at the Lagoon. Good movie, in French. Backgrounds are all painted. Story of a Scottish woman during the French Revolution, tigers you cannot dismount, the persistence of ideas, and the value of sacrifice. Went with Mary, Michael, Liz, and Susan. (Michael, Mary, and Bridget are leaving for Paris Saturday.)

Date: 2002-06-14 06:46 am (UTC)That's the Rohmer film I want to see, that I probably won't get around to seeing before it disappears from the theaters.
Given my current emotional state, probably a good idea I haven't gone to see it.

I think the film left the Lagoon yesterday, although I'm sure it will be in video. It's visually fun, but it is a European movie -- (l o n g).
If you want to do something like see a movie, do it. Emotional states I'm rather less able to comment on without the benefit of half a bottle of wine or a pint of Guiness. Then, I become much more able to comment, although my comments are often less appreciated -- strange as that may sound.

Date: 2002-06-14 08:46 am (UTC)Which is not to say that I wasn't calm and placid yesterday. What I was, was sinking into depression. I went home and went straight to bed. I'm guessing, based upon your thumbnail description, that it might not be a good movie for me to see if I'm sinking into depression. I might be wrong.
