Has been procured at great cost to replace the missing trim and patch a few missing places. It just ain't cheap any more to fix things made in 1907 no matter if it be oak, maple, or pine. And, I didn't hafta pay to cut a knife this time.

and 2x4s aren't 2 x 4 anymore, either

Did I see that Bennett lumber is gone? I sometimes found old house pieces there.

Siwek Lumber over here in my neck of the woods has a shed full of this stuff and their prices are totally reasonable.

(The round trim above Toad Hall's front attic window isn't wood anymore. It's bondo. And I drove a couple big galvanized nails into the framing behind the missing trim to give the bondo something to hold onto... )

Bennet Lumber...

Opened a splashy new place in the 'burbs and went bust. Something's taken them over, but I've not been there.

Most of the trim was done just for the house. This is just a few pieces and a bit of trim patching, but it still costs an arm and a leg.
