No open house this year even if it's the house's centennial year. I'm waiting for the New Year to move closer to the weekend so I can save my vacation days for vacation.
Next year won't be any better: January 1 2009 will be a Thursday. Jan 1 2010 will be a Friday. Finally, on January 1 2011, New Years Day will be a Saturday.
Wah. It's been a wonderful unbroken series of amazing parties. But it sure is a huge undertaking. Would volunteers help? I couldn't do anything this year, but as a rule, would more hands help, or is it more complicated than that? I'd get it if you didn't want any. Most of the time when people offer to help me out, I can't articulate what needs to be done or delegate it either. I just like to plug away and do things the way I like them done.
Volunteers are always nice, but it's taking a day off afterwards for cleanup plus the Tuesday, which seems inauspicious. I often have the same feeling about plugging away.
My master plan had me finding a cheap flight to Jamaica this year, but that never turned up...

Date: 2007-12-31 09:29 pm (UTC)I certainly understand being short of vacation days, and I have at least a vague idea of just how much work you put into making the party happen.
Thanks again for all the past years!
You're Welcome!
