lsandersonArrived at my aunt's townhouse shortly after 9:00 a.m. She's recovering from back surgery, and I was going to paint her newly installed banister, go with her grocery shopping, and yank tree roots out from under the patio. Her neighbors brought over orange rolls, juice, and a huge bowl of fruit. I shoulda taken off the banisters and painted them. Did that after breakfast. My stain was too light. Afterwards, I got another, darker stain. It was too light too.
I took down the banisters and slapped one coat of stain on them, then we went shopping to a small grocery store in Crystal/Golden Valley. When we got back I helped her put away the groceries, and then attacked the tree roots. My aunt went out shopping for furniture. After a while, lifting bricks gets tiring. By the time I was done, I was starting to get really tired.
I slapped a second coat of poly on the banister, and waited for it to dry before heading home. There was a MNSTF meeting back out in Crystal that I wanted to go to, but after arriving home, I didn't make it out of the house again.
