IFP MINNESOTA SEEKS BUSINESS DIRECTOR
Full Time, Salaried Position
IFP Minnesota's mission is to advance a vibrant and diverse community of independent film and media artists through networking, education, funding, and opportunities for showcasing their work.


Position Purpose: The Business Director is a full-time salaried, exempt position. He/she will work closely with the Executive Director and staff to manage the smooth functioning of IFP MN's financial, personnel and office systems. The Business Director reports directly to the Executive Director. Primary responsibilities include:


I. FINANCIAL SYSTEMS
* Oversee accounting and financial practices
* Payroll and tax reporting
* Accounts payable/receivable
* Entries in the accounting system
* Prepare monthly financial statements
* Annual work with auditor
* Determine sound internal control practices/implement appropriate systems.
* Establish relationship with vendors and credit sources
* Negotiate contracts, prices, rent on behalf of the corporation.


II. BUDGET
* Work closely with the Executive Director to create annual budget
* Coordinate with Executive Director efforts to maintain predictions for income and expense for the year.
* Prepare cash flow projections on a quarterly basis.
* Monitor and track earned and contributed income
* Forecast for future years based on long range plan.


III. INTERNAL STRUCTURE
* Human Resources
* Implement personnel policy
* Oversee vacations, sick leave, reporting of hours
* Manage employee benefit package and advise Executive Director on HR issues such as adding benefits, and develop new employment policies.
* Maintain job descriptions.
* Apprise Executive Director of employee review and salary schedules.
* Work with Executive Director on hiring process, including employment postings, interviews and procurement.


* Facilities
* Oversee space management, including security and keys
* Phone, computer and other systems: ensure staff is provided with efficient, working equipment to do their jobs.
* Long range planning with regard to future organizational growth and demand.


Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance, business administration and/or accounting
* Minimum of 2-3 years experience in accounting
* Minimum of two years experience with PC-based computer software such as Excel, Microsoft Word, e-mail, web page editors, and computerized accounting systems, particularly Peachtree.
* Knowledge and ability to implement and maintain policy and procedures necessary for sound accounting principles; ability to apply policy and procedures to a variety of situations
* Supervisory experience with the ability to prioritize workloads effectively in order to meet scheduled deadlines and promote teamwork
* Effective interpersonal communication, problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills with ability to communicate with a broad spectrum of people
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from board and staff members
* Ability to communicate information in an easily understood manner to non-accountants
* Ability to clearly communicate results of work both orally and in writing to management and other departments
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.


Compensation: Salary range: low to mid-$30's DOE. Excellent medical benefits included; other benefits plans available; generous vacation policy.
