It's just like quip about Viet Nam: "Declare Victory; then withdraw." He's been pretty good on the first part, maybe finally catching on to the second? Wait, let me think about that...

He made it abundantly clear that he has no intention of withdrawing. He sees an American presence there "beyond his Presidency." It sounded to me like he thought that Iraq would be a great place for us to have a puppet government so we could keep tabs on the region from a safehold. He was so divorsed from reality that it was surreal.
