lsandersonMy Baby Car(TM) spent the night alone at the dealer. The gas gage went wonky. I know, I know, it's a technical term that many of you are unfamiliar with, but that's what it did. I took it in last night and they said it was a MAJOR OPERATION to replace the fuel sensor in the gas tank. So, they loaned me a car and I had to drive home in a car the size of New Jersey. Last night they told me, after quoting me a price that seemed like an arm and a leg, that they'd misquoted the price, that it required both arms and both legs because my car was without a top and so it required a whole heap more work and was an even MORE MAJOR OPERATION to replace the fuel sensor in the gas tank, but they said, since they'd only quoted me one arm and one leg, that's all they'd take when I paid for it, and would I please bring in my own saw.
"Oh," they said, "and you know you need tires?"
Why yes, I thought but every time I come in here, you put the cost of tires in some other part of the car, but I was nice and said "I know, and thanks for offering to look up your overpriced rubber for me." But, I said it nicer, in a more mid-western way where most of the sentence is silent.
Then they called me this morning at O Dark Hundred and said the fuel sensor they got to replace the wonky one was wonky too and that it just wouldn't do. And that the nice man I'd talked to yesterday would call me later.
Oddly enough, last night he didn't want to go to the restroom and have sex. I've heard there's a lot of that going around. Maybe I did not tap my foot correctly. I missed out on formal Tea Room Training in my formative years. There are somethings you have to start early in order to get right.
