Maple liqueur sounds like the most brilliant idea EVER.

Mmm, that looks good. :) I don't think I've ever had French toast with maple liqueur - in fact, I don't think I've actually made French toast in about 20 years. I've had it, I just haven't made it myself... I may have to try it some time.

I haven't had maple liqueur in quite a while, either. I had some lychee and pomegranate liqueur recently, when we were experimenting with various combinations to make up the cocktail menu for Klingon Karaoke at Polaris, but we didn't try anything with maple - I'm not even sure if we had any. (The pomegranate liqueur was for a drink we called "Save The Cheerleader" - pomegranate = pom-poms - and the lychee was for something we called a "Lycheean Nietzschean," in honour of Steve Bacic, who is one of our guests. Unfortunately we later found out that the hotel bar stocks neither of those liqueurs.)

Grenadine

The bar would have grenadine which would be an easy sub for pomegranate liquor.

It's...

A bit better with things than straight, but it was great on the toast.

Hm, we didn't think of that (even though one of our group has worked as a bartender). I'll have to suggest it and see if we can still get it on the menu - thanks!

Of course, you might hafta chase it with some vodka to kick up the spirits a wee bit.

I can't remember what it was being mixed with to start - it may have been vodka and pomegranate in the first place. There was definitely some other kind of liquor mixed with it. (It's tricky, trying to create new drinks and get the flavour balance right - the Lycheean Nietzschean took about 20 minutes before we hit on the combination of lychee and melon. Or maybe it was green apple - I don't recall now, but it was definitely something green.)

Canadian Maple Liqueur - that's something that I'm going to have to try.

Since the guy who gave it to me will be around this weekend, we should have a toast to flaming toast with him.

K. [though I don't think he drinks, actually]
