I'm ripping

I pulled the CDs from the changer and overfilled a spindle. I'm sending MusicMatch after them one at a time. It doesn't take it long to rip. Then I'll rearrange the CDs in the Sony and probably rarely play them. Still need a subwoofer and wire to the rear speakers... Eines tages. Hmm, I'm ripping Die Jahreszeiten in reverse order...

The single best concert I've ever been at was a performance of Die Jahreszeiten in Munchen. Unknown to me or to my friend, Raphael Kubelik had just turned down a post in New York (at the Met, I think), and the concert began with a five to 10 minute standing ovation when he walked on stage. First, to get a standing ovation at a classical music concert in Munchen is not like getting a standing ovation in Mpls. In Mpls, it's pretty much a standing ovation unless the orchestra does not end at the same time or something even more scandalous happens. In Munchen, at least in the days that I was there, much, much more was required. I'd never seen applause at the start of a concert before. It was the Bayerischer Rundfunk, with the choir, and a stellar cast. And, it was electric from the start to finish.
