Last night & This morning
Dec. 22nd, 2005 08:45 pmI made
Mizz Laura Jean and
David'sanniversary dinner despite forgetting to put it in my calendar.
Minnehahas,
Daedala, and
Carbonel were there as well. I had a great time, good food, good wine, and great friends.
This morning, I awoke too early. I'd offered to drive a friend around, who'd just had a knee replaced. Somehow, I woke up at 2:00, and stayed up until 4:30 or so. Then the alarm started going off around six, punch, six-five punch, six-ten punch, six-fifteen punch, and I finally gave up and got up. I'd entered my arrival time as 7:30, and while we'd agreed over the phone that I would arrive at 8:00, I sort of forgot it and showed up at 7:30, which worked out fine.
We went off to Fairview Southdale for physical therapy, where they decided she'd be fine with a cane instead of a walker, and I read mags and surfed for an hour or so, then ran to the hospital to deliver cookies (and forget to pick up a pillow case) then off to breakfast (she bought), a quick trip to Target, and I dropped her off for a hair appointment and wandered around the Galleria. After the hair, we went back to the hospital to pick up the pillowcase and off to the pharmacy to pick up some perscriptions. Then, I dropped her off at home in the wilds o' Edina, shoveled out part of her sidewalk and sprinkeled salt around so it would be easier for her to get around. With the temp in the thirties today, it should have gotten the sidewalk clear in a short while. I also opened her front door, which had been frozen shut, and suggested she shim up the hinge. (I'm not sure the suggestion was appreciated...)
Then I ran home and tried to catch up on the missing hours of sleep. Now I'm pretending I'm writing Xmas cards.
Earlier, I tried to send out invitations to my Open House on New Year's Day. Either Outlook or my ISP was not amused, so I'm not sure if it sent them or bounced them all automatically.
