The other Saturday event,
kalmn's open house, was fun, but my visit was shortened because of the great octopus shortage and the banana flower episode. Amazingly enough, I arrived at the exact same time as Laura Jean and David, although I suspected they had already made their appearance and wuz leaving. Instead, they had neither written down the address nor printed out the Expedia maps route. (They'd found the neighborhood, but not the house.) Although I never wuz a boyscout, I had both the Expedia map with the address and the address on my Treo, which would come in handy when they misremembered the floor at Party #2.) The master plan had been to arrive at Open House (aka Party #1) around 3:00 and exit around 5:30 for Party #2. There, but for the shortage of octopus...
On Sunday, I ran back to Party #2's address to reclaim my camera bag, which I'd carried to both parties, but never opened or snapped one picture. Much discussion of French and English kings ensued from the casual mention of Casablanca => Lion in Winter.
Somehow on Sunday, I kept feeling as if I'd been attacked by Spanish white wines, although I did make it through Casablanca, and a play at the Illusion Theater on autism that was very well attended.
Next weekend, the Illusion is doing a play on Gay Marriage and the Church... It's supposed to be really good.
