Overheard on MPR whilst driving in late to work yesterday, the Minneapolis Planetarium is doing a telescope extravaganza on the mall this evening where you can look through a telescope at things that, I'm gonna guess, are off somewhere in space.

Madness! How are they gonna look at fireworks with a telescope? And besides, I have a perfectly good telescope in my sunroom, and if I wanted to use it, I would. Hmm, the last time I tried to set off fireworks in the back yard, the neighbors did get kind of excited...
