Date: 2015-05-01 08:42 pm (UTC)I think that needs to be revised to "police killings" (perhaps a much larger number) -- the Freddy Gray case was (IMHO) clearly some kind of murder, though not actually a shooting -- and, in my opinion, every one of these should be investigated by way of a Public Trial. I suppose that in at least half the cases the police action will be found justified, (and cactually be so) but I seriously think that we really need the transparency of serious & public consideration of _every_ such incident. The alternative, I suspect, would be a really violent Revolution with thousands (or maybe hundreds of thousands) of people dead. What we've been doing for years is Wrong, and if we don't shape up, we'll be shaped-up, violently.
