Travail's Umami offers a new kind of dining
Article by: RICK NELSON , Star Tribune Updated: October 17, 2013 - 8:06 AM
REVIEW: Travail's spontaneous, fun-loving offshoot is breaking all kinds of rules. Thank goodness.

We wuz there just last night! It wuz gud too.

We arrived quite slightly before our 7:05 ticket time, after finding the restaurant hiding behind a Little Caesar's Pizza, we handed the tickets in, and were told to wait in the back of the room. Groan. But, quite quickly we were summoned to a long table. I took no pictures, but what we ate sounded identical to the review. The only off note, we thought, was the dessert. It was a bit too salty and diffuse. It's all served for two, and I was the pig that got the single servings of maybe half of the ten courses. The $40 ticket includes tip, but not beverage. It was great.
