Sandy's Birthday!
Oct. 27th, 2003 08:49 amThe birthday party went well. Gorgeous cake. Lots of Sandy's friends stopped by. A few were shocked at the continued deterioration caused by the disease. Sandy made it through two and a half hours of the three hour party, then Barbie and two attendants moved her back up to her room, where I hope she had a few drops of morphine.Party Pictures.
At 5:00, we started stacking the chairs back on the dollies, and the few people who were left left. I ran up to grab my coat, forgot my shoulder bag and ran home.
I got a call at 8:45 that the replacement aide was running late, and so I went back to Jones-Harrison until 10:00 when the aide arrived. Ruthie called around 10:00. She was trying to make it up from Missouri for the party but arrived late.
Barbie, who had planned the party, and her husband Scott, had tickets to the Simon and Garfunkel concert in St. Paul. After reading the review in today's paper, I kinda wish I'da popped for tickets. I saw them the last time they were in the TC in 1983.
