lsandersonYesterday, I blew off the morning visit with my aunt so that I could hit the grocery store for meeting refreshments for the Minicon meeting that we moved to my house because the other co-chair is sick. I also bought a birthday card for the birthday party I was going to between 1:00 and 1:45 when I had to head back home to set up for the meeting.
I ran through my aunt's room at Jones-Harrison, picked up some laundry (not the laundry I'd forgotten the day before) and headed off to Lunds. It's in uptown, has good cruising, good food, good cheese, good salads, and hefty prices. I picked up an Asagio & artichoke dip, some yogurt, sour cream (which I didn't use), a piece of drunken goat cheese (mostly for the price and the name), at a few samples, including one deluded demonstrator who passed off the core of a pineapple, salad, almonds, almond oil, Fini balsamic vinegar. I thought I still had lottsa olives, but somebody has been eating them. Then I hit the French Meadow for two loaves of rosemary/olive oil bread. Everybody said they liked it a lot, but I was not wild about it.
After the meeting, I cleaned up in my usual desultory fashion, relaxed a bit, watched part of Enterprise, and went back out to my aunt's with the cleaned laundry. Spent from 7:15 to 10:00 there and watched the "new" starless "The Practice." Rarely have I seen so many sharks jumped with such efforts. I ustta find the old show overdone and overblown, but the new version is laughably funny.
