What is bullying?

"Bullying is when someone keeps doing or saying things to have power over another person.
Some of the ways they bully other people are by: calling them names, saying or writing nasty things about them, leaving them out of activities, not talking to them, threatening them, making them feel uncomfortable or scared, taking or damaging their things, hitting or kicking them, or making them do things they don't want to do.

Have any of these things happened to you? Have you done any of these things to someone else? Really, bullying is wrong behaviour which makes the person being bullied feel afraid or uncomfortable."

Fandom tends to be full of neurotic introverts who are uncomfortable with aggression/assertion--me, for instance.

I agree that fandom is "full of neurotic introverts" -- but I've also experienced some extremely aggressive and what I would define as bullying behavior from fen, also. Fairly often, too.

Bullying in fandom can take more subtle forms, too, such as the 'Smarter Than Thou' or 'More Politically Correct-than Though' attitudes toward people with a different perspective.

Some of the examples you cited as bullying seem ambiguous. I.E: not talking to or including someone can be more a matter of self-defense than offense, when one feels vulnerable to that other in some way.
