May. 5th, 2003 10:48 amWhen I got back from dropping a birthday card off from my aunt at the post office yesterday, a Mazda, oddly tilted, was a foot away from Thong's car, facing it on the wrong side of the street, with the back of the car well out into the street. Some part of the driver's front wheel had failed. and the car stopped a foot from the car. I think he'd bounced off the other car parked in front of Thong's. The outside of the car was scraped and flattened. Thong's car was untouched.
I walked up to the French Meadow for a coffee (out of beans at home, must run to grocery store). A tow truck came and hauled the car off. A woman sat in the back seat; she was dressed African. The man was standing. Thong talked to him about it. The tow truck driver spent some time loading the car onto the flatbed. He was using the lift to move it away from the side of the street.
