Last night I finally reconfigured the rerouter and put it back upstairs. I'd gone in a few times, but could never get it to see the router it was to rebroadcast.
It's one of those things. The rerouter's software is extremely fussy about the wired connection it has. It won't recognize the rerouter if it's on the second motherboard network connection. The software does not explore connections for the router; it just grabs the first one it can find, and then reports back if it can't find the router.
So, with the rerouter's software on one monitor and the other router's setup on the other monitor, I tweaked away. Just for kicks, I upgraded the main router's firmware too. So, of course, this morning while trying to take duck pho pictures and post 'em to the interwebs, my phone gives me network error messages.
