lsandersonToday, Thong and Thi off for Vietnam. They fly at noon from MSP to Tokyo, Tokyo to Singapore, and Singapore to Vietnam.

Thong didn't sleep much last night. He talked about dragging Thi out of Vietnam, being on a boat, having the boat raided by Thai, getting picked up on an oil rig after six or seven days on a barely floating, adrift boat, going to the refugee camp, getting sick, spending 3 months in the hospital, geting sent to Bangkok, interviewing with the Canadians, Australians, and holding out for the USA. Spending time in the the Minor camp with his brother, who was about 12 or 13 at the time. Getting accepted by the Americans, shipped to Memphis TN, leaving there for Minneapolis, and striking out on his own.
