While I ustta like shopping at the Uptown Art Fair, the suburbanites driving around Uptown with glazed eyes looking for parking — frequently going the wrong way down one-way streets -- the mothers with perambulators going through packed crowds, the merchandise, and the prices soured me. If you wuz looking for art, it ain't there, and if you're looking for tat, it's far cheaper elsewhere. Every year I would enter it at one end and look for a present for my sister, whose birthday is close. Every year, I would emerge from the other end with nothing.
