The story of how the Copenhagen chef René Redzepi began fashioning what has come to be known as the new Nordic cuisine is told in “Noma: My Perfect Storm,” a feature-length film that should appeal to dedicated restaurantgoers. It includes people in Mr. Redzepi’s circle like Claus Meyer, who will soon open a Nordic restaurant in New York, and Tage Ronne, who rummages the forest floor for ingredients, as well as the team of cooks who spend so much time plucking tiny leaves from threadlike stems. As for the distinction of running what has been named the best restaurant in the world four times (but with two, not three Michelin stars), it provides a dramatic story line and, for Mr. Redzepi, enough angst to suit Shakespeare’s prince, even though he is half-Macedonian: “Noma: My Perfect Storm,” directed by Pierre Deschamps, produced by Documentree Films, in theaters, on demand and on iTunes on Friday.
