Friday, I went to see Gogol Bordello at First Avenue. It was great.

Saturday, I went to Orchestra Hall. It was great too, although a bit different than a gypsy punk band. Natasha Paremski dressed and played to the nines. It was fun to watch the bright red fancy shoes pounding the pedals sticking out of her slinky shiny silver gown. From the second row, the piano somewhat overpowered the orchestra, but I could watch some of the hands on the keyboard from the reflection from the top of the piano. It does not take much to get a MN audience to stand, but the performance was worth it. Since it was Orchestra Hall, I didn't whip out my cell phone and record it.

I should add that the orchestra road tested La Marseillaise at the start of the concert. So, I guess the Freedom Fries are officially in the dustbin o' history?
