Since my host has a totally sucky spam filter, I've redirected my email to gmail, which has a quite good spam filter that does not suck up much good mail and lets little spam through.
Define suck:
Their whitelist does not support email addresses like @mail.wotsit.com, but just @wotist.com, etc.
Their read it and put it on the list feature seems like a total waste o' time (adding a website to the whitelist works, adding individuals seems not to).
Their spam filter just loves Yahoo groups -- especially if it's a group I'm subscribed to, not so much if it's just spam. Please don't ask me how it differentiates between the two, but it seems like it does and always comes up with the wrong decision.
So, if I respond to your email and forget to select my home account as the sender, it's going to come from Ghoogle.
My host renewal date is February or March. The last time I looked at cheap hosts, suck and email filters seemed to go together.
