Friday I drove to Fargo and spent the night at my sister's. Saturday morning, we departed for the wilds o' Dakota with her car, which has room for more than a gentleman's overnight bag in the trunk. We arrived at my cousin's around 1 or so. We had a light lunch of fruit and veggies, and went out to eat at the Pirogue Grille for our 6 o'clock reservation. For starters, I had bunny in phyllo. Judy had a beet salad, Myra had ?, and I had buffalo medallions, my cousin had a slab o' pig, my sister had shrimp and my cousin's roommate, Judy, had sea scallops in a fenugreek curry cream sauce. We split a sample dessert plate, with peach cheese cake, choco crepe, choco pate, cherry ice cream, and one more. We drank a bottle o' wine, and Judy drank gin.

Back at the house, we watched a couple of movies. The next day, we continued the movie marathon, ate a light breakfast and lunch, and then grilled steaks and corn for dinner, followed by more movies. Monday morning, we had brunch at my uncle's. Coming back, Judy noticed that the rear passenger's tire was almost flat on my sister's car. Of course, it was raining. After watching a few episodes of Fawlty Towers, we headed back for Fargo, stopping at the first gas station to fill the tire. I ran inside to see if they had a tire gauge, which of course, they did not. But, I put air in the tire until it looked vaguely round, and we went off to the next gas station, which had a tire gauge. We drove to Steel, where we stopped and I checked the tire. (My initial round without the gauge, was slightly over the recommended 36 psi.) The tire was still round. We stopped in Jamestown and check again, and it was holding, so we drove on to Fargo. As luck would have it, we arrived outside of West Fargo, to a maze of flashing lights and stopped traffic. There was a tangle of cars off the highway lying in ditch just before an entrance, and fire trucks parked above. A policeman waved us through after a brief stop, into a littered debris field in front of the crash. We passed the ambulances heading for the accident on our way into Fargo. We cooked some pig with apples and ate more corn that night. The next morning, we had breakfast with Andrea, and I drove back to Mpls. Today, it's back to work.
