Leaving today around three. Big plans to hit the village last night failed. After dinner with friends, I read and fought with Expedia, where I have too many working logins, and several, which I think should work, but don't.

Have to pack, figure out the airport trip, and perhaps wander around the village this morning. It is clear and sunny, but Montreal seems like Ireland, where little clouds can suddenly cover the sky and gush rain.

I spent some time yesterday trying to help pack up the consuite, which consisted mostly of waiting for a truck. I finally gave up the wait, and wandered off with rvrjoe775rvrjoe775, drewandrewan, and friends to the Planetarium and a church. We attempted to take a city tour, but could not find the right location. After walking in circles, we returned to the hotel. Joe & Andrew departed for the parking garage and Ottawa, the friends to their room, and I found gerisullivangerisullivan. We wandered around a bit and, prevented from wandering out for food because of a sudden rain, we went to the food court. I grabbed a coffee and tart (first food of the day), and they ate various things. Leaving the food court, I stumbled across Terry, the errant driver I'd been waiting in the consuite for, and continued my quest for party reimbursement. I helped Terry load a taxi, road to his place, helped unload the taxi, and we returned to the Delta, me happy with my check.

The friends, sans Joe and Andrew, wandered off at six to dinner, wandered back through the old town, and that's what my day consisted of.

IN AN OLD VINE, MODERN WISDOM Winemakers in Rioja, Spain, have followed ancient methods that still work, even preferring to grow grapes on bushes, not along trellises. More Photos >

Rioja’s Roots
ABUNDANT wreaths of ghostly mold hang from the ceiling like sentinels, guarding thousands of bottles of gran reserva wine deep in the cellars of the R. López de Heredia winery here in the heart of Rioja. More mold and copious cobwebs are draped over the bottles, some of which have been aging in their bins for decades. More
