Yesterday, after finishing the Sunday New York Times whilst eating a bowl of muesli with the last of my lime Gaymont yogurt, I foolishly put off going to the store. Someone wanted something to eat, but didn't want to go to the store or get more specific about what that something was. Ever since I failed mind reading in college, I've been leery about those situations. Instead, shrimp fried rice, an egg roll, and a pork salad was retrieved from Pho Tau Bay.

About this time, davidschrothdavidschroth and I decamped to General NanoSystems to exchange the 320 GB SATA drive for a 320 GB PATA drive which would work without an additional controller in the Dell computer. They gave him a SATA drive when he ran in on Saturday. I went along because I've been lusting after a round floppy cable and a bluetooth mouse.

David drove, and unable to keep my mouth shut, I suggested the Huron exit, which, as soon as we got off 94, seemed a bad idea. Senator Clinton was giving a speech in the area, and since the obvious exit was packed, people had bailed to the Huron exit as the next best alternative. There's usually nary a car in sight at it, but this time, they were stacked back from the light to 94. We eventually got to General NanoSystems. They exchanged the drive and gave it to David for the same price. I bought the floppy cable, and then remembered about the mouse...

We went back, stopped to buy too much bread at the French Meadow, and I walked home to pick up a drive cable, and then we went over to Harriet Manor and hooked up the drive, add the DVD burner, and a card with an additional 5 USB2 ports. Then, using the spiffy Seagate software, I cloned the 30 GB drive over to the 300 GB drive. We fiddled with the trackball, which had fallen out of the mouse port, and the bios which didn't seem to like the 300 GB drive, and after the cloning, I just switched the cables (using cable select on the drives). It booted fine, and David dropped me off here, where I loaded my screw collection in my Baby Car(TM) and drove madly off to Lunds. (This is where the not going to the store earlier turns back to bite me in the butt.)

I quickly assembled a collection of too much veggies and too much fruit to go with the Big Block O' Cheese that carbonelcarbonel was bringing over for fondue, bought a frozen pizza (apparently not the right one -- still failing the mind reading course). I, of course, forgot the Sterno. I stopped at Rainbow, which seemed to no have Sterno, called David, and ran home where I made one run into the house when Beth showed up. After unloading the rest of the groceries, I chopped veggies, Beth grated cheese on the KitchenAid, and drewandrewan and I compared chocolate dipping choices. When I found out that Beth's fondue used liquid alcohol, I called David to cancel his Lund's run for Sterno... I've a gallon the basement.

We loaded the table up with veggies, bread (rvrjoe775rvrjoe775, for obvious reasons, got knife duty), nuts, capers, gherkins, and cheese, and then we ate for an extended period of time. When we ran outta cheese, Beth grated the rest of the cheese and we carried on. After the last of the cheese was consumed, we adjourned to the Batcave for a couple of Wizard games. One complete, one even numbered hands. Then we went down to melt chocolate.

I'd been bogarding a nice Portuguese red during the cheese section and Wizard game whilst everybody sucked various flavors of diet Coke, but we opened a Spatelese Riesling with the chocolate that everybody had a glass or two. Well, except for the tea drinking daedaladaedala.

After the chocolate, everybody wandered off, so I just cleaned up, and watched a Torchwood or two before turning in.
