I'm burning my first one. I know they've been around for a while, but the last time I tried to burn one (to back up the Sony laptop OS), the wretched thing would not back itself up to a dual layered DVD. So it had to go on two. One of the concerned parties has been texted...

SWEET SOLERA Adapted From Shorty’s.32

1 1/4 ounces Glenfiddich Solera Reserve Scotch
¾ ounce Lillet Rouge
½ ounce Monin caramel syrup
1 maraschino cherry, for garnish.
Stir all liquid ingredients with ice and strain into chilled cocktail glass or an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with the cherry.

Yield: 1 serving

Caramelized Bacon

You can make this up to 3 days in advance. Keep in a tightly sealed container at room temperature. This is a dish that can’t be ruined. You can freeze the leftovers. But why are there leftovers?

1 pound bacon
1 1-pound box light brown sugar (about 2 ¼ cups).
