It's the Aliens R Us with solar viewing. Dark ships, bright sun. Cute but sexlessly played cast. Dark with a wee bit too much screaming. Not the tightest plot I've seen, but a reasonable attempt at some hard SF with a wee bit o' mysticism & horror thrown in -- OK, OK, so it was a boatload. Self-sacrifice and all that. The NY Times liked it; I'm less enthusiastic, but pretty much agree with the Time's review.
