Took a sick day yesterday and spent the day at home writing letters, paying bills, and trying to clean off the acres o' maple desk while popping anti-histamines. At 5:30, having not made it to the Tea Shop that opens at noon and closes at the absurdly early hour of 6:00 pm or to the Post Office, I drove on the back streets to Southdale for dinner with an host of people including the incredulous Minnehaha, and a long period of standing in line to see RotK at the MegaStar. After the movie, I drove back home and did not move the trash out to the curve. This meant, of course, that I had to do it this morning.
This morning, my sister called, and then I industriously sabatoged my exit from the house. I went looking for my aunt's address book, which I've lost before. (I put it someplace where I'd be sure to find it, then forgot which place that was.) In the process of moving piles around, I buried my wallet and checkbook under a pile. So, when I was trying to get out the door, I spent another 15 minutes running up and down stairs trying to figure out what I did with them...
Then I stopped at the Post Office. Long line, but it moved and it was much longer when I made it out the door. I did get the things off, which is a big plus.
