I took the window out of my office that mysteriously got broken. I suspect Thong's continuing war on the pigeons is the cause, but it's been sitting there broken all summer. (He's always strangely silent on exactly how it got broken.) The last time I tried to get it out, the glass started falling on floor and I decided I really needed shoes, gloves and a broom. Had them all and the remainder all came out in one piece. Have to take it up the street to Rex Hardware and have new glass put in. I was thinking about replacing the windows this fall, but then did not because of the cost. The bay window (facing north) leaks way too much air. One of the storm windows refuses to close completely as well. I suspect it's not true, but my attempts previous years to tape it up have failed. I should get heavy Roman blinds for it with better insulating abilities, but then I can't peer out on the world. What the use of having a bay window on the second floor if you can't peer out on the world?
