Happy Birthday, Jon Singer.

Today is Science Times. Article on a female physicist who's tangling with dimensions. It's not quite Dickian, but it sure ain't Hamiltonian. Also, the small, mild-mannered elephants of Borneo. Article.

Off to my aunt's this morning shortly at 9:00.

This morning, I ran out to Jones-Harrison to help my aunt cash out some US Savings Bonds that we've been talking about cashing in for a long time.

My aunt's door was closed, I think she was still sleeping. I noticed the aquarium dripping from a string holding a mesh over part of the filter. Eventually, the O2 guys ran through refilling the liquid tanks. Afterwards, I went in and talked to my aunt. She'd fogotten to call them yesterday, but I said that I'd go down and they could call her.

After I wended my way to the basement and found the business office, they called, and I got the bonds. Ran up briefly to talk to my aunt and then headed out to the bank.

I told the first teller that she probably would not be happy that I came to her window and presented the bonds and my POA. She conferred with another teller, and they tripped over my dad's name on the bonds. "Are you Lawrence?" they kept asking. "No, I'm Larry." I kept saying. It wasn't quite a "Who's on first" but it was getting close by the time we agreed that I was not "Lawrence."

The original teller handed me off to the one that was helping her determine that I was not Lawrence, and, after disappearing to speak with her supervisor for a minute or two, we started wading through the bonds, first signing (after it was determined that I could sign), redeeming, and then finally cashing. Afterwards, she took a copy of the POA.

By the time I left the bank, it was 10:45 and I made the dash to work.
