It's mid June, and today it's supposed to start feeling like it.

I'm not actually anti-gun, although I'm pretty thoroughly anti-carry, and I'm very much anti-conceal and carry. I'm opposed to concealed weapons under all except exceptional circumstances. I'm from a farm in North Dakota. We always had tons of guns in the house. Big guns. Rifles and shotguns. But you never, ever walked into a house with them uninvited; you left them in the car, the pickup, or the truck. You certainly did not take them into the living room unless you were invited. It just isn't polite. I think armaments should either be proudly displayed or done without. Only sneaks, outlaws and other lowlife carry their guns concealed. That's just me, and I'm clearly in love with almost all phallic objects.

I do think Minnesota's new gun law reeks of right-wing indifference to the common good, and considering their usual elevation of property rights over everything, amazing. I'm also amazed at the level of paranoia running rampant. And, being Scandinavian, this casual indifference to the common good is very disconcerting.
