How much money does the government overspend each day?
1 Thousand?
1 Million?
1 Billion?
1 Trillion?
Well, if you guessed a billion, you're right. That's a wee chunk o' change. And here I ustta think Democrats wuz wastrels whilst Republicans were sound fiscal conservatives! Apparently, like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, it just ain't so. Now, I am in favor of deficit spending -- hell, I've practiced it most of my life, and I tried to get my parents to practice it to. But, sooner or later, as I've realized to my chagrin, those damned bills do come home. And they roost! You can't get rid of them, even spending more money just does not help! And the damned things grow.
I guess as long as it goes to rich people it's just fine, but when things go to poor people, then it just ain't natural.
