Feb. 9th, 2003 08:27 amI got up and made chicken liver pate and fava bean pate for the MNSTF Pool Party at the Radisson South. I ran out to Jones-Harrison to visit my aunt and stayed until she went down for lunch. I ran back into uptown, picked up some red wine, cider and Guinness at Hennepin Lake Liquors; I stopped at DreamHaven to see how David was doing, suggested I pick up Rachael so he had more room for boxes; and then I and ran home. I'd cruised by the French Meadow before on my way to my aunt's looking for a parking place and had not found the ideal one, so I walked from my house. A whole two blocks. I purchased three loaves of bread: two white and one rye. I had them slice it, something I would not do for my place, but which I do now for taking them to other places.
In spite of good intentions, I left here around 4:00 and picked up Rachael. We then went to the Radisson South and quickly found the pool party. I asked Carol where to put the extra pates and threw the bread onto the stack. Close to 5:00, they started clearing the big table so PR-3 could get laid out on it. After a while, David showed up and I helped carry up the PR stuff. Then we started collating, and the work continued until close to eleven. I helpfully stuck some of the international labels on the PR (they go on the envelopes). I also collated a few copies, and folded a bunch. At some point, they started collating and folding, but as I pointed out, since I was trying to chew gum too and it just wasn't working out for me. I switched to taping at some point, and sat there after the last pile was taped until the lighting zoned into the pool-closed mode.
