Dec. 15th, 2002 11:59 pmMy aunt called around 6:30 a.m.. She'd gotten up around 1:30 and had been unable to get back into bed. I ran out and took her to the bathroom with the wheelchair and helped her into bed. I ran back home to read the papers until 10:00 when I was going to cook breakfast for the two of us.
Made sausage, bacon and eggs. Remembered the toast this time. Coffee (de-caf) and orange juice. Loaded up the dishwasher and started it. Then I read the rest of the Times and the ads from the Stibune. I did my first transfer from the chair to the wheelchair. My aunt has been using the walker, but suddenly it's the wheelchair. It wasn't too long ago when it was suddenly using a cane to get around at Machu Piccu or when she spent part of the summer in England and the Hebrides.
Rachael called and asked if I could give her a ride to the Minicon meeting. I took my aunt to the bathroom in the wheelchair and ran out the door around 1:30. Avoided the unconscious turn and took 35W to 35th Street to pick up Rachael. As usual, her apartment building floats between 35th and 36th Streets for me, so I ran past it and had to turn around. Rang her bell, picked her, chocolate anglefood, and clemantine curd up and dashed for Laura Jean's.
We did the left-right thing after we got to Bloomington. After I let Rachael convince me to turn north, we doubled back and got a quite nice parking space.
After the meeting, I sat around for a bit, and then headed back out to my aunt's.
Sometime, I've got cards to do and some other things.
