Aug. 21st, 2002 07:24 amPacking everything back into the suitcase. Move it down to the car. Eat, read the USA today, pay the bill and head for class. No more internet until I'm back in Mpls. Well, except for during class, but I won't be checking e-mail.
Made it into Chicago and back last night. There's something about Boystown that always throws my internal compass out of whack. I usually ride and come north up the lake shore, then cut over. This time, I was driving down from the north. I drove up and down the street looking for a place to park. The bars revealed themselves to me slowly. Before I left, I asked a bartender which way was West, and by the time I had walked to my car, the compass reset itself. Walking along a straight street, it felt quite strange when it clicked into place and the mental directions suddenly matched the internal ones.
Heard from the people we're subleasing the Mpls in '73 party space from. Should start writing lists of things to do. Three short days remaining to departure. WorldCon. Woohoo.
