Aug. 5th, 2002 08:51 amTired this morning.
Diversicon: Room party went well, I thought. I closed it down around 2:00. A drunken wedding party had moved into the tables outside the room. We shut the door when they started playing music, and figured visits from the front desk wuz coming soon.
Let's see:
Too much food.
Quite enough single malt -- it seems popular with lady poetesses.
Too much blog.
Ironing boards make good snack tables (except they look like ironing boards).
Good amount of bread (two loaves).
Pool room too expensive, but the outside tables worked well for the party.
I tried to print out signs for the party on Saturday morning. First, the power went out. So I went off and did something else. Then the computer crashed. Then it lost the printer. Then I futzed around with it. And futzed, and futzed, and futzed. End result: no printed signs.
Diversicon seemed oddly quiet this year. Missed Joe and Andrew. Joyce wasn't around much. Two dealers seemed impressive, although I bought nothing. The art show, such as it was, wasn't much. I was rather more impressed by the previous two, which although small, had nice works.
