Eek! Another month bites the dust. Only 9 more days to put the license tabs on the car. They've been sitting in the glove compartment now for half a month.

Was just about to e-mail Andrew last night when the power goes out -- literally just sending the message. I said I'd burn some MP3s on a CD for their trip to Michigan, but I could not find the MP3s I promised to burn. I suspect I deleted them when I installed some large software, but I could be wrong. Meanwhile, I've a whole folder full of unlabeled CDs, most of which I should throw out. (My HP burner hates the cheapo CDs I buy...)

Rather than sit here and stew about not mowing the lawn, and not voting for the Hugo's, I trudged up the street to the laundromat to see when they closed. Came back to gather the laundry together, bags o' soap, and headed up the street.  Threw the clothes in 5 assorted machines, and read, whilst keeping one eye on the cute guy who was also doing laundry. Half an hour later, the machines reached the end of the cycle, and I bundled four of them into a comforter and trudged back up the street. Walking the block, I noticed lights on in the buildings. Power! I threw the first load into the dryer. Boiled some beans and ate a quick burrito, and channel surfed. Went down the change the dryer around 10:30, when I realized that the fifth machine, the one the cute guy had rested his rather nice legs on, was still sitting at the laundromat with my clothes in it. By this time, it was ten to eleven, and the laundromat closed at eleven, but back up the street I went with a laundry basket this time. Whipped in, rescued the sheets and jeans, and ran back.

Next task was to start up this computer. It always blows the bios settings out when the power goes, so I ran through and reset everything. While I was waiting, I penciled in my votes for the Hugos, then logged into the website expecting that the volume would prevent me from voting, filled out the information for the ballot, got the ballot (with working tab stops even), voted, and received confirmation within a few minutes. Sometimes, technology is wonderful.

Got a three single malts, some two cider samplers, Leini's & Urquell. If I remember, last year, nobody drank. It was a hot as hell weekend last year, that much I do remember. The whole hotel was warm and comfortable, if you liked it really warm. It's going to take me all morning to haul them over there. Supplies after the lawn.
