Fun article in the Times about the Delphic Oracle. Ethylene gas. Guess it woulda worked good to ripen bananas too (or make pineapples bloom).

Oscars are Sunday night, and I'm thinking about getting tickets to the Orpheum Theatre gig. It's a hoot, and it's for a good cause, and it's $30 Eek!

I was just wondering, not to start a religeous flame war or anthing, but why are noted Greek historians and multiple eye-witness acounts of the Delphic Oracle decried as mystical nonesense for years while writers who wander around fasting in the desert under the noonday sun and see all sorts of wild things determined to be factual automatically?
