Dec. 8th, 2001 06:51 amWe stopped at Home Depot, where they were out of 4" poinsettias that my Aunt wanted, although we did find a few other things. My sister wanted to stop at Penzey's across from Calhoun Square, and I probably picked up more peppers than she picked up spices. We ran back to my place to search for the bird store on the Internet, where we did not find it or a forwarding address. But we did find some copper gewgaw that my sister ordered instead. I threatened bodily harm if such a thing ever showed up at my house, but then we headed back out to my Aunt's. Of course, my office appears as if a bomb went off in it. (sigh)
My Aunt was making rosette batter. That was the task for the afternoon. So we sat around and waited for the batter to rest, then started cooking. My sister took over the fry cook position, and I ran 'em between her and the sugaring squad. We only did three batches, and I think my sister was using more batter on the rosettes, because we had waay less than last year when we did four batches.
My Aunt baked some game hens, and we exchanged Xmas presents whilst they baked, and then pigged out, finishing up with liquors that my Cousin got at Hennepin Lake Liquors.
I ran home around 11, dropping a birthday card into the mailbox outside the downtown post office for my Aunt.
