Spending waay too much time on e-mail these days. All kinds of excitement that's probably only exciting to me. Sister and cousin coming into town on Thursday. I've gotta borrow Thong's car and pick them up in the wee hours at the airport and ferry 'em out to my aunt's townhouse in exotic Golden Valley. I still have not figured out how my sister's gonna get on the plane. She's not exactly a morning person, and I doubt there's room for her bed on the plane. Plus, the water bed would be kinda heavy. Still have to land a birthday present or two. We're doing restaurants for Xmas.

One day of work before five days off. Of course, we're releasing a new software version to a client and, as usual, they ain't got the software yet. I don't know why that should surprise me, or they suddenly thought they needed training materials for lab testing a product. (After somebody had said they didn't need training materials, of course.)
Two other minor rush projects and still it seems as if I spend half the day waiting for somebody to tell me how something (which isn't working to my satisfaction) works. Never thought to set a date range out a year when the group I was working with was only going to be in the hotel for one day. Guess that just shows how stupid I am.
Then, there was the command button that magically migrated to it's original screen location if you maximized the windows. The developer and QA thought that was too minor to fix. I sometime shudder about decisions like that when we're peddling a rocket-science product. To me, a total lack of regard for the simple, easily visible things indicates a yawning abyss of crap code in the depth of a product, not the reverse.
