Nov. 22nd, 2001 10:51 pmRan off and caught Harry Potter just after noon. Enjoyed it.
Picked up a duck at Shuang Hur on the way home. Thong has a duck menu: duck, bread, green onions and cucumber. Could not find any bread at the store where I got the duck, and I didn't want to wander from store to store. I'd parked across from a parking lot where a car was burning. The fire trucks started arriving just as I pulled over and thought, well, I'll just leave the car here (with visions of a nice Hollywood special effects blowup echoing in my mind as I went to the store.)
The car didn't blow, and although the deli case was bare of hanging ducks and pigs, I went back and saw that they had a few already chopped up in Styrofoam. Picked one up and headed for the checkout counter. $13.00 for a roasted duck. I peeled and boiled some potatoes (with a few garlic cloves added), riced them, and we had them with the duck. The missing bread was commented on, but Thong really likes riced potatoes, and he ate a whole bunch.
Have to track down my neighbor tomorrow and have him sign something for the cable people so they can clamor around in his back yard to get the cable hooked up to the house.
The vacuum I ordered is sitting at UPS. Damn, I hate their delivery service. Well, OK, I shoulda had it delivered at work. At least if it was FedEx, I coulda gone and picked it up. UPS isn't open until Monday. Grump, whine.
