I'm having this urge to hit MadCon at Madison this coming weekend, but a quick browse of their website indicates a more than passing media interest, but then, I'm more than passing interested in media (just not interested in paying for autographed pictures of stars, unless it's Vin Diesel or porn stars in revealing poses...) Speaking of media, an interesting article in today's NY Times about "The Boondocks" and "Doonesbury" and how the press reacts to dissent.

Good Relaxacon just over. I wandered back out on Sunday, picked up the Ducky box and the whisk I'd left there Saturday night. Registration is currently in limboland, and it's time to shake a few trees.

Note to self: Digital Film Festival at the Walker.. http://www.walkerart.org/calendar/0110/  I'm thinking about trying to see some of the films at the Walker. And I think the GLBT film festival is starting, which I usually manage to blow off.

Off to pick up Thong and his Asian posse at the airport shortly. Have to take the big car, they won't all fit in mine. They've been off colonizing the gay bars in Chicago. Have to make sure I tape Angel... Hit Quang's on the way home from work. Lemon Grass Chicken for me and a Pork Salad for Thong. Only place in town that knows my voice when I place a take-out order. If they had chicken soup on weekdays, I think Thong would eat there all the time (except for Tuesday when they're closed)>

Planning on going to the XP launch. It's free, and there's a remote chance I'll win a copy. Plus the tee-shirt and the freebies, discount coupons etc. I already checked and found out I'll hafta upgrade my CD recording software... damn, I just upgraded it when I went to 2000. That was the only thing Microsoft claims won't work. They didn't mention all the codecs I'll probably hafta try and find, but I'm thinking I should switch the video card anyway. I use the dual CPU computer all the time anyway, and I'm planning on putting the other one in the basement.
